Project Leader
Job Overview: Our client are an established injection mould manufacturer & 1st tier supplier to several key automotive OEMs; - a new post has arisen within one of the Business Units for an experienced & skilled Project Leader to work on a new joint venture with a Turkish automotive manufacturer, supporting Toyota. You MUST HAVE automotive experience for this post.
The position:
Job Title: Project Leader
Job Summary: To be responsible for the successful introduction of new customer programs into the Business Unit (BU) and management of the Engineering Change (EC) process.
Key Role & Objectives:
To communicate the project requirements in terms of overall timing with customers, Business Unit personnel and Central Services.
To co-ordinate systems and meetings defined in NPI, APQP, PPAP and other company and customer procedures.
To organise APQP activities, minute and follow up all actions.
To prepare all documentation for presentation in customer organised meetings
To ensure all relevant personnel are aware of project scope.
To manage the customer approval of new products introduced to the BU through PPAP or customer equivalent process.
To manage the new programme pricing targets set by the Commercial Team.
To manage the team to achieve profit targets on tooling programs, set by the Commercial Team.
To manage the introduction of new programs into production, staying with the programs until scrap and excesses reach target.
To ensure that the fundamentals of any new processes will meet the BU and customers requirements.
To track all project and engineering change activity and communicate and if necessary escalate problems, delays etc.
To support the manufacturing system throughout the life of the product.
To take responsibility for the spares requirements for each of the BU products in respect of storage, plans to manufacture, shipment and communication of payments to relevant personnel.
The expectations
Essential
Business / Engineering related degree OR proven track record of carrying out a similar role for a minimum of 3 years in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Experience of customer and industry systems and procedures including QS9000, ISO 14001, TS16949, APQP, PPAP and Microsoft etc.
Desirable
Plastics experience preferred.
Experience within automotive projects
Experience in working on Turkish projects
Possibility of being able to communicate in Turkish language, though not essential
Microsoft Project Knowledge
